The construction industry has a long history of taking "that's how it's always been done" as an acceptable answer. However, over the past few decades, many of the old ideas about running an effective jobsite have been replaced with more efficient methods.
As technology has advanced, tools like building information modeling (BIM), design for lean construction, and new methods of worker training have helped increase productivity on jobsites around the world.
The construction industry is one where innovation should be embraced - not feared! With innovation comes change, which can be scary for many people. But there are some basic principles that will always apply to any jobsite: planning ahead; making sure everyone knows what they're doing; using tools that help keep everyone on task; anticipating problems before they happen and troubleshooting them when they do arise; setting up a routine and sticking to it; running a safe worksite every day whether or not someone else shows up tomorrow.
